We are sorry to report the sudden passing of Dan Duggan, world champion hammered dulcimer legend, great singer/songwriter and part of the fabric of music in the Adirondacks for many years. His amazing musicianship, artistry, gentle manner and warmth were well known to all who knew him. We send our condolences to his family and Peggy Lynn, his amazing wife who also is a music legend in the North Country. The Arts council fondly remembers their performances with Jamcrackers as well as together as a duo. We look forward to seeing Peggy this summer on July 25 at 11 am in the Boathouse Theatre for Peggy and Dan's Family Folk Sing, as well as Peggy as part of our special 36th Adirondack Folk Festival on Sunday , August 9 all day. Donations in Dan's honor can be made to Paul Smith's VIC, Great Camp Sagamore and Old Songs festival. This Friday, June 5, there will be a celebration of Dan's life at Paul Smith's VIC beginning at 5 pm. May Dan's memory be for a blessing.
