SCHROON LAKE LIVE!!! - A WORLD OF MUSIC PRESENTED IN THE HISTORIC 1824 BOATHOUSE THEATRE, SPONSORED BY THE SCHROON LAKE ARTS COUNCIL.

Welcome to all Schroonlakers!!  After a year of the tragedy of Covid 19 that impacted the world and the U.S.,   the ice has finally gone out on our lakes, the boats and snowbirds are back, the Loons are calling, and Schroon Lake has come back to life once again! Our thoughts and prayers go to all those who lost friends, neighbors, loved ones, relatives or casual acquaintances due to Covid-19.  While we have clearly turned a corner, this should be a wake up call to all those who have not yet gotten their Covid-19 vaccines.  If we do not get a greater proportions of our population vaccinated, the likelihood of Covid-19 persisting and coming back is real.  Please believe the science, epidemiologists and  public health  workers! Vaccines are available, free and easy to obtain!! You owe it to yourself, your loved ones, neighbors and our community!

As you know,  last summer , due to Covid-19,  the Schroon Lake Arts Council canceled all our concerts and the  yearly Folk Festival.  With the new regulations and guidance from the CDC, State of NY, and Dr. Fauci, we are thrilled to announce that all of our wonderful concerts and activities WILL be happening summer 2021!

After a year of dormancy, we are delighted that almost all of the artists we scheduled last summer are available this summer.  That said, with a new year, we are giving ourselves a new name for the sake of promotions.  “ SCHROON LAKE LIVE!!!— A WORLD OF MUSIC PRESENTED IN THE HISTORIC 1824 BOATHOUSE THEATRE, SPONSORED BY THE SCHROON LAKE ARTS COUNCIL”. We have 5 great concerts scheduled  in the Boathouse:  Beartracks, Patchouli, Klezamir, Big Fez and the Surfmatics and the Guthrie Brothers provide an opportunity to experience a wonderful and diverse array of musical genres that should keep our loyal fans happy and coming back for more.  Moreover, our Monday night Jam sessions are scheduled  from June to the end of the summer on Monday nights from 7-10 p.m.  Last of all, and perhaps best, we will be having our 31st Adirondack Folk Festival on Sunday August 15 outdoors,  overlooking our beautiful lake from noon to 5 p.m.  Once again, that event is free and is a musical treat for everyone!

All this can happen because of the continuing support of our community, including the Chamber of Commerce, our fabulous President Shar Hooper, Board members Tom and Mary Ann Fallon, Heather Dibble,  our fabulous volunteers, our tech support and our loyal audience.  We pledge that Schroon Lake Live will continue to be an annual summer treat as long as our audience keeps coming!  And we are always in need of volunteers— a great way for new folks to meet and make new friends AND hear some great music. If you are interested, please click the link on our website, provide an email or phone number, and get ready to help!

To get the complete schedule, just click on EVENTS and see the dates of all our concerts.  Tickets are $25 for adults, $5 for students  and free for children. Moreover, for those folks lucky enough to be spending the entire glorious summer up on Schroon, a SEASON PASS for all 5 concerts is only $100 — that is a saving of $25 if concerts are purchased separately!  And a great way to support the arts here on Schroon.  Better still, why not become a member?  Click on MEMBERSHIP and note the different categories.  Your membership assures that the sounds of music will thrive on Schroon Lake for many years to come.

I look forward to meeting many of you at our first concert  on Tuesday, July 13 at 7:30 p.m. when we open the season with fan favorites Beartracks and ,  as MC, I get to loudly say: “GOOD EVENING SCHROONLAKERS!!!”

Warm regards, David Namerow, VP, Schroon Lake Arts council
